Adolescent program
Project Summary
The Adolescent Program is a long-term initiative implemented by Shishu Niloy Foundation (SNF) Shishu Niloy Foundation with support from PKSF Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). The program has been operating since 21 August 2019 in Moheshpur and Kotchandpur Upazila under Jhenaidah District. It focuses on adolescents aged 12–17 years and is implemented through a structured network of 171 adolescent clubs for both boys and girls.
A total of 5,000 adolescents (2,397 boys and 2,603 girls) is organized under the program, which is managed by two field staff members. The initiative aims to promote positive behavioral change, leadership development, and social awareness among adolescents.
Project Goal and Objective
The primary goal of the Adolescent Program is to develop morally responsible, socially aware, and empowered adolescents who can contribute positively to society.
Key objectives include:
- Building leadership capacity among adolescents
- Raising awareness to prevent early marriage
- Promoting moral values and ethical behaviour
- Supporting the development of a superstition-free and enlightened society
- Improving health, nutrition, and overall well-being of adolescents
- Encouraging cultural engagement and sports participation
- Preserving and promoting indigenous cultural practices
Impact
The program has created a strong community-based platform for adolescents to learn, interact, and grow. It has helped increase awareness on critical social issues such as early marriage, health risks, and social discrimination.
Through club-based activities, adolescents are becoming more confident, socially responsible, and active in community discussions. The inclusion of health, nutrition, sports, and cultural activities has contributed to both physical and mental well-being.
Achievement
