SMART Imitation and Gold Jewellery Project
Project Summary
The SMART Imitation Gold Jewellery Project was implemented by Shishu Niloy Foundation (SNF) to promote sustainable growth in the imitation jewellery sector through the adoption of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) practices. The project worked with 1,000 entrepreneurs across 9 upazilas and 14 unions of Jashore, Jhenaidah, and Chuadanga districts. By strengthening technical skills, improving production efficiency, and promoting environmentally responsible business practices, the project aimed to create a more competitive, resilient, and sustainable jewellery manufacturing sector.
The project emphasized technology adoption, climate resilience, occupational safety, environmental management, and market competitiveness while encouraging entrepreneurs to embrace circular economy principles.
